Sara Patel is a high school student at Cygnus World School. Prompted by the urge to learn more about the brain and its complexities, Sara is interested in fields like neuroscience, biopsychology, and neurobiology. She enrolled in the Honors Biology course at Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Talented Youth in 2024, which allowed her to build an extensive knowledge of higher-level biological principles and concepts, in addition to learning to apply them in real-life contexts. She was also a fellow at the Junior Academy of the New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS) in 2024, where she worked toward building a website that would connect clients to eco-friendly fashion. Sara has been long-involved in leadership roles, including being the Vice Cultural Secretary at school, and working with the Interact Club to conduct cultural events, fundraisers, and distribution drives. In her free time, she is involved with speech and drama. Through the Steps Together Collective, she wishes to channel innovation in a socially responsible direction in order to advance equitable measures for individuals with disabilities.
